Old story. Every state wants it. Even otherwise one can not survive in Taminadu state government jobs without knowing Tamil(Tamiz?). But yes, the picture is different here in MaharashTra. The language issue is just in its nascent stage. Practically there is no discrimination based on language as yet. A really beautiful state of peace loving people having respect for their tradition and culture at the same time accepting everyone with open arms (at least till now). Whatever we hear is mainly due increasing migrant vote banks becoming a threat to local politicians. In recent times the increase has been very sharp. Once the politicians are instigated the situation does sometimes get out of hand. There is an immediate need to diffuse the situation to preserve the culture of the land and restore the tranquility that existed. It is the land of saints. But saints and bhakti tradition has always needed a protector. In democracy it is the people. So they should get up and act.
What Tamilnadu is proposing can be mooted here too. Earlier they were asked to pass MaraThi exams after recruitment; the same can be a pre-condition.It’s a logical demand.

स्वभाषा, स्वसंस्कृती यांच्याबद्दलचा अभिमान या विषयात जगभरातील नियमांना धरूनच तमिळ लोकांचे वर्तन आहे. महाराष्ट्रच त्याला दुर्दैवी अपवाद आहे. आणि त्याचे परिणाम भोगतो आहे. जगभरातील बहुसंख्यांप्रमाणे स्वाभिमान बाळगणारे इथे अल्पसंख्य आहेत व स्वाभिमानास संकुचितपणा म्हणणारे, निरभिमानी, न्यूनगंडग्रस्त मंडळी इथे बहुसंख्येने आहेत, निदान ज्यांचा प्रभाव समाजात अधिक पडतो अशा वर्गात तरी. ह्यामुळेच महाराष्ट्राच्या, किंबहुना सामान्य मराठी माणसाच्या नशीबात असे दुर्दैवाचे फेरे आले आहेत की ज्यामुळे त्याला स्वतःच्याच मालकीच्या घरी नोकरासारखी वागणूक मिळते आहे.

सप्रेम नमस्कार.
करूणानिधी कट्टर आहेत कारण ते ज्या जनतेचे पुढारी आहेत ती जनता स्वाभिमानी व कट्टर आहे. करूणानिधी महाराष्ट्राचे मुख्यमंत्री झाले असते तर ते कदाचित महाराष्ट्राच्या इतर राजकारण्यांप्रमाणे पुचाटपणेच वागले असते. करूणानिधींना महाराष्ट्राचे मुख्यमंत्री करण्यापेक्षा आपण यमिळ जनतेप्रमाणे स्वाभिमानी व कट्टर बनायला पाहिजे. तेवढा एकच उपाय आहे आणि त्याला पर्याय नाही. आत्याबाईला मिशा असत्या तर असे म्हणून स्वप्न रंगवण्यापेक्षा आपण स्वतःच्याच मिशांना पीळ देणे शिकून घेऊ.
